HU$H was definitely one of my favorite musical discoveries last year. His talent for genre-bending is undeniable, and there’s something truly special about the way he blends different musical influences into a cohesive sound. He’s a true innovator in the world of music. It feels like ages since we’ve had new HU$H material, but the wait has finally been worth it.

He’s back with “Calling All Angels” and a powerful accompanying music video. This song hits hard on a personal level, and it also reminds me of the struggles faced by some of the loved ones in my life. It feels like HU$H is baring his soul here, sharing his own experiences with vulnerability and honesty – and I have a feeling it’ll resonate deeply with anyone who’s ever grappled with unseen burdens. The raw emotion in “Calling All Angels” feels genuine, and it’s a reminder that we’re not alone in our struggles, even if they take place in the quiet corners of our lives.

And that’s a powerful feeling, that many people deal with on a daily basis. I mean especially in these times which it’s made worse by the current loneliness epidemic.

And it goes on to such a degree there is like an emotional and maybe even spiritual exhaustion. He is so used to suffering that it has begun to normalize, leading to a sense of disconnection from themselves. And this is an area where things become really dangerous, and extremely unhealthy. When you sort of start to normalize it.

And when it comes to the chorus, “calling all angels”, there is a shift. A need for something beyond the current reality, a cry for help, and a belief in something bigger despite the pain. There is a desire for guidance and rescue from their dark circumstances. And for me what I like about this, is it can be something both spiritual and even beyond that, or the Angel in the sense of someone else that can help you.

There’s a mention of cognitive dissonance – holding conflicting beliefs or dealing with difficult truths. And I mean, this could relate to the internal struggle between destructive habits and the desire to change.

The emphasis on hidden suffering and invisible illnesses is what makes this song so powerful. It resonates with the experiences of those battling conditions like PTSD and chronic pain, where the struggle is often concealed beneath a facade of normalcy. HU$H seems to be speaking directly to those who feel unseen and unheard, highlighting the complex reality behind a simple smile or the act of getting through the day.
